Veterinary Receptionist Likely First Job Replaced by Robots

I recently saw two different authors predicting that certain types of attorneys will soon be replaced by robots.  Sounds good!

In our veterinary world, robots have been predicted as surface cleaners or perhaps in some robotic surgery. However, there are big changes going on in the robotics world and one of the newer is “Sophia.” She LOOKS very human and has cameras built into her eyes to do facial recognition. She is programmed to show 62 human emotions on her own face, probably copying and bonding with the human she is talking to at the time.

In the veterinary world, this type of robot makes the most sense at the Reception Desk. Initially, the robot would only do the repetitive tasks like checking a client in or out, so a human would still need to be nearby to handle exceptions. However, in a large practice one, 24/7 robot might replace two human salaries.

Meet Sophia below, and it is worth it to watch the video HERE: It is humorous that during the demo to the press, she declared she wants to “destroy humans”. Here is the full link if desired.  https://veterinaryfuturesociety.org/wp-admin/post.php?post=462&action=edit&ip-geo-block-auth-nonce=271b9f1ca8

Here is Sophia the future veterinary receptionist…

Sophia can express 62 human emotions, and if within her wheelhouse does perfect tasks.
